Inspire 2026: E4: Mission: Engineering (July 13- July 17)

Jul 13, 2026 - Jul 17, 2026

$2,000 Enroll

Full course description

Many students don’t fully understand what they’re signing up for when they enroll in engineering programs. Mission: Engineering is designed to help rising 10-12th graders better understand the field of engineering and what being a conscientious engineer means in the modern day and age.

Students will be assigned teams and complete several challenges over the course of the week, including the digital modeling of a team emblem, design tasks, and some basic programming. Around these activities, guided discussions will introduce foundational engineering concepts like the design process and ethical responsibility. Students will have the opportunity to explore the field of engineering and better grasp where their own passions lie.

This class is part of E4 Exploring Exciting Engineering Essentials. The UVA School of Engineering and Applied Science has created a series of classes that can be taken individually or together to help aspiring engineers learn more about the foundations of engineering and what is possible when you apply the same framework to different topics.

This is an in-person course that meets daily Monday-Friday in Fairfax, 9AM – 4PM ET. Tuition covers materials, meals (lunch/snacks), and transportation to any off-site excursions.
